Weekly Cleaning List

Keep chores manageable by breaking cleaning jobs into daily lists. Checkout this customizable, printable, chart of weekly household tasks. Weekly cleaning list. Daily cleaning list. Easy cleaning list. Printable cleaning list. When it comes to cleaning, my husband and I have very different strategies. He will let things pile up until it drives me crazy and then spend a few hours cleaning to pick up after himself and put things away all at once. I put things away as I use them and do a small amount of chores everyday so that I don’t ever have to spend hours at a time to get my house clean.

If you are like me, and want to have a clean home all the time, this post is for you.

I have broken all of the chores that need to be done on a weekly basis into a “Weekly Cleaning List” that assigns specific tasks to specific days of the week. It also includes the items that need to be done daily. I find that doing a few chores everyday is much more efficient and feels like a lot less work than going on long cleaning binges.

You can customize this list to fit the needs of your home. I suggest that you print the list, put it inside of a sheet protector, and attach it to your refrigerator with a dry erase marker. That way it will be easy to see and you can keep track of your chores by checking them off.

Now that you have a plan of attack, let’s be realistic for a minute. Does it really matter what day of the week I vacuum my living room floors? Of course not! If I am having a lazy Monday night, I just do Monday’s chores on Tuesday. The important thing is to make sure that everything (or nearly everything) on your list is done each week at some point.

I did not include a place in this chart for things that need to be done monthly. You can add those items into your list on the blank lines with a dry erase marker.

Here are some of the things that I try to do once per month:

  • Wash all bedding
  • File and sort documents (I keep a “to sort” folder on my desk)
  • Wash shades, blinds, and windows
  • Dust light fixtures and ceiling fans
  • Clean out trash cans
  • Wipe light switches and door knobs

The important thing to remember to do something small everyday. This helps to avoid that “oh no, my house is a disaster… how did this happen?” overwhelm feeling. I hope that this printable weekly cleaning list will help you bring some cleanliness and organization back into your home. 🙂

  1. I love your daily chore list! I am someone who likes to do a little each day to keep the house clean, to stay on top of chores. At least, that’s how I try to be. Truth is that sometimes my schedule falls apart and I get behind. But having a list like yours will help me to stay on top of chores better. Thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks for reading.
We all fall behind sometimes! Having a checklist helps make it easier to know what’s left undone.

  2. I love your list! I’m not that organized yet, but your post is definitely a motivation 🙂 Thank you for sharing at the Friday Favorites linky party!

    Happy Tuesday!
